Hi everyone, this is Bill Hartzer (aka Bhartzer). If you’ve landed here, you probably noticed something: my website hasn’t been updated since 2016. That’s right, it’s been eight years since I last shared a post. Time flies, and life certainly moves quickly. But here we are in 2024, and I think it’s about time I break the silence and give my website the attention it deserves.
Why Haven’t I Updated?
Let’s be real — a lot has changed since 2016. I’ve been busy with client projects, SEO work, keeping up with the constant evolution of the digital landscape, and all the other things that keep me on my toes. But, just like a neglected garden, a website that isn’t maintained or updated starts to wilt. The SEO guy’s website going dormant for so long? That’s a bit ironic, isn’t it?
Well, it’s time to fix that.
Why I Need to Make a Post
- Keeping Up with My Audience: Whether you’re an SEO professional, a business owner, or just someone interested in the digital space, my website is supposed to serve as a resource for all of you. I’ve shared tips, insights, and analysis in the past, and I know people have come to rely on that. If I’m not updating regularly, I’m missing out on connecting with people who could benefit from my experience and knowledge.
- Showcasing Expertise: One of the golden rules of SEO and digital marketing is “content is king,” right? I tell clients this all the time. The last thing I want is for my site to appear outdated or irrelevant. Regular posts allow me to keep my SEO skills on display and stay sharp in a rapidly evolving industry.
- Search Engine Rankings: This might be obvious, but fresh content keeps a website visible in search results. A stagnant website doesn’t perform well. Period. Not only does Google appreciate fresh, valuable content, but so do the readers who want the latest information. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t thinking about my rankings.
- Accountability: Putting out regular posts keeps me accountable. I can look back and see what I’ve learned, the trends I’ve predicted correctly (or incorrectly), and how my thinking has evolved. It’s like a digital journal for SEO, but it’s something I can share with everyone.
What’s Next?
I’m committing to getting back into the groove. The first post back is always the hardest, but once that’s out of the way, it’ll be easier to keep the momentum going. Whether it’s SEO tips, digital marketing strategies, or even just a glimpse into what I’ve been up to, I plan to make this space active and useful once again.
Thanks for sticking around and here’s to more consistent updates coming soon!
Stay tuned, Bill Hartzer (Bhartzer)
